's home state, i'll give santorum west virginia, indiana, santorum, north carolina. okay? romney campaign is arguing with me, i'm doing this for a hypothetical reason. santorum is closing the gap, but romney is still getting delegates, and if gingg rf is still in the race, he can't close the gap. if the senator things it's ungracious to say mr. speaker, please get out, would you encourage other politicians to ask that? >> i appreciate that demonstration. i never heard the word if used so many times in a five-minute time span. >> i was giving all the states to your candidate. >> that's right, but you know, after tonight, i think it's going to be very interesting. the drum beat has begun, talking to newt gingrich, trying to get him out of the race, but like i said, we would flefrb do that. you know that, rick santorum would never do that. he's not that kind of guy. and it depends. wi have been calling on the conservative voters to unite behind us. this is another indication that proves we're not just a regional candidate. that's very important, and you know, if newt gingrich stays in, a lot

. we give him kentucky, west virginia, north carolina, indiana, wisconsin, even if he won all of those states, with gingrich in the race getting some delegates, romney coming in second or coming in third and getting some delegates, look what happens? romney still clinches the nomination, still clinches the nomination, maybe, maybe if santorum could take away california, romney still clinches the nomination. santorum would also have to win some place like new jersey to deny him and romney would have a big lead. that's one scenario. even if you take gingrich out on the theory that maybe he exits the race, say after a santorum victory in louisiana, the proportional delegate rules in most states suggest again even being extraordinarily generous to senator santorum that romney will be difficult to beat. let me show you that scenario. i'll change the map a little bit. go back to where we are today. even if you take speaker gingrich out, and then let's just say again santorum wins wisconsin, wins indiana, switch that one, let's say he wins west virginia, we'll switch that one, he wins kentuck

're talking about the same area that was hit yesterday. kentucky, illinois, indiana. parts of the ohio area and down through portions of tennessee a moderate risk. any time you see a moderate risk we're talking about a potential for tornadoes once again. this will be during the afternoon tomorrow. we are hoping they do not see a repeat of what we saw during the day yesterday. as far as our weather is concerned the same frontal boundary that is going to cause thunderstorms there will move our way and i think a good chance for some thunderstorms in our area overnight friday night into early saturday morning. right now i don't think the severe threat is quite there but we have to watch out for some stronger storms and we'll of course watch them for you here at nbc 4. by the end of the afternoon though we get out of here and we're looking at sunshine late in the day on saturday. that's not bad at all. as far as our next couple days go how about this evening? looking good. still a little bit on the cool side. you'll notice the temperatures dipping down. 57 to about 64 degrees. but just gorgeous

, missouri, illinois, tennessee, indiana and kentucky. over 300 reports of severe weather across the region described frightening details such as wind gusts of over 80 miles per hour and golf size hail storms. there were reports of power outages for thousands of people particularly in my home town of louisville. downed power lines, flash flooding were reported all across the state. news reports and accounts from my own staff tell me there's been considerable damage across kentucky including dozens of homes and businesses damaged and several people injured. two people in mccracken county near paducah were rescued from an overturned mobile home and rushed to the hospital in critical condition. from what we know at this point, however, thankfully it appears no lives were lost in kentucky. unfortunately the same cannot be said elsewhere as the severe weather that was that raged through six other states reportedly has claimed at least 12 lives. i join my colleagues from the affected states in keeping think thoughts today, keeping in my thoughts today all those affected by these storms especially

, but one of the bills, h.r. 4088, it's got a new sponsor, the gentleman from indiana, mr. quayle, and we have never seen that in our committee. i checked. that bill was introduced february 24 or something. it's never had a hearing. it's never been through committee. so why are we getting a bill on the floor now that has never been seen in our committee? i would yield to the gentleman from the rules committee. mr. sessions: i'm not seeking recognition -- mr. frank: i thought -- mr. sessions: the gentleman from arizona has a good bill and i encourage you to read it. mr. frank: i have read the bill, but to be told that we are going to in a party that says -- voted for regular order bring out a bill, 4088 has had no committee consideration whatsoever. the other bills have. the other five. but it's never been brought up in a hearing, it's never been in subcommittee, it's never been in committee. and the notion that it's a good bill and therefore should be immune from any committee process is very discouraging. this is a bill that's only been in existence for a couple weeks. and the gentleman

'm giving santorum, wisconsin, indiana, north carolina, west virginia, nebraska and pennsylvania which is 72 votes. i don't think he's going to win all of those. i think wisconsin, indiana and maybe north carolina and nebraska will go to romney. so right now, gingrich -- romney -- if romney wins all of the 11 states i ticked off and he's ahead in all of them, then he's got this nomination sewed up and he would then have 1230 votes and he needs 1144. i frankly predict he'll end up with 1320, 1350 which would be 200 more than he needs. >> i know he got most of the conservative vote possibly for the first time and he also gained on married women on rick santorum in the midwest. >> tea party. >> and the tea party as well. but does the voter turnout down 24% despite the biggest, most significant illinois primary since 1988 disturb you? >> well, i think that a lot of the people who would have turned out to vote for santorum or gingrich stayed home because they felt that they did not want to prolong this nominating battle and it was one thing to vote for a candidate who is not their first choice

to be romney is the inevitable nominee. but the potential of arkansas, kentucky, indiana, north carolina, and above all, texas, crowded with the kind of voters who resisted romney all the way through, he may kind of stumble over the finish line. >> this is going to be a fascinating race. it has been from the very beginning. very unpredictable. ron, thank you so much. always good to see you from washington. >> thank you, fred. >>> former vice president dick cheney gets a new heart. but how much of a new lease on life is it. in the next hour of the newsroom i'll talk to the cardiologist about why cheney is considered a good candidate. we always hear about jobs leaving america. here's a chance to create jobs in america. oil sands projects, like kearl, and the keystone pipeline will provide secure and reliable energy to the united states. over the coming years, projects like these could create more than half a million jobs in the us alone. from the canadian border, through the mid west, to the gulf coast. benefiting hundreds of thousands of families throughout the country. this is just what
